Before booking your flight, we recommend visiting a physician to determine if it is safe to travel by air, considering the probability of events such as turbulence, pressurization and lack of access to immediate medical assistance.
Please consider that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) recommends traveling up to the 36th week of gestation in cases where the pregnancy has not presented any complication, and up to the 32nd week for a multiple pregnancy in the same condition.
When booking with Volaris, pregnant women are complying with this and accepting these risks.
If you plan on traveling during your pregnancy, we recommend the following:
· During the flight, fasten your seatbelt around your hips and not around your abdomen.
· It is not advised to travel after 7 months (28 weeks) of pregnancy, or 7 days before your delivery, is not recommended.
If you are traveling after 28 weeks of pregnancy, you must submit a medical certificate from your physician including:
- Your full name.
- An authorization to travel during your flight dates. If not included, the letter is only valid up to 5 days after it was written.
- Full name, professional license and telephone number of your physician.
