What documents do I need to travel?

The travel documents depend on the origin and destination of your flight.

Flights within Mexico

Mexicans must present a valid photo ID:

■ IFE/INE*
■ Passport
■ Professional license
■ IMSS or ISSSTE card
■ INAPAM card
■ Driving license
■ Mexican military service card

IFE/INE cards that expired in 2019 or 2020 will be accepted as an exemption until August 1, 2021.

Foreigners must present a valid photo ID:

■ Passport
■ Residency
■ Another official photo ID

Minors may present any of the following:

■ Birth certificate
■ Passport


Flights to Mexico

All passengers must present a valid passport and visa if applicable. See the list of countries whose citizens need a visa to enter the country.

Other countries

For international flights, you must present your passport and, if necessary, the corresponding visa as well.
