Discover Volaris Partnerships

At Volaris, we expand your travel possibilities with more destinations and a more flexible and seamless travel experience through codeshare and interline agreements.

What is a codeshare agreement?

A codeshare agreement is a commercial partnership between airlines that allows one airline to market flights operated by another airline using its own flight code. This means you can book a Volaris flight operated by a partner airline, giving you more options and greater convenience.

What is an interline agreement?

An interline agreement is a commercial partnership between airlines that allows flights from different carriers to be combined into a single journey. Through this agreement, one airline may sell flight segments operated by another, while keeping its own flight code and clearly identifying the operating carrier.

Interline agreements expand the network of available destinations, offering more connection options to reach your final destination.

Benefits for you:

Simplified booking:

Purchase a single ticket for itineraries involving multiple airlines.

Baggage transfer:

Your checked baggage is automatically transferred between airlines (except when entering countries that require customs and immigration clearance).

More connection options:

Access to a broader network of destinations and schedules.

Irregular operations protection:

Alternatives in case of delays or cancellations.

Time savings at airports:

Faster check-in and transfer processes.

Unified travel experience:

Consistent service standards across partner airlines.

Baggage

All flights purchased through our partner airlines include baggage by default, according to the applicable agreement. Please review your reservation for details.

If you need to add extra or overweight baggage for your Volaris flight, you can do so at Volaris airport counters on the day of travel. Applicable fees will apply.

Seat selection on Volaris-operated flights

For segments operated by Volaris, you may purchase your seat directly at Volaris counters during check-in. You can choose standard seats or, subject to availability, our Premium Plus seats (first and second rows) for an additional fee.

Check-in

  • For flights operated by a partner airline:
Check-in must be completed on the operating airline’s website or by following the specific instructions provided in your booking confirmation.
  • For flights operated by Volaris:
Check-in is completed in person at Volaris airport counters. Our team will verify your travel documents, baggage, and additional services before issuing your boarding pass.

This process ensures your documentation is validated through to your final destination and that all additional services are correctly registered in your reservation, in accordance with codeshare operational standards with our partners (including Copa, Hainan, Turkish, and Iberia).

Frequently Asked Questions

Currently, Volaris loyalty points are only awarded on flights operated and marketed by Volaris. If you book through a partner airline or travel on a segment operated by another carrier, please refer to the applicable loyalty program’s terms and conditions.

If your connecting flight is delayed or canceled, please visit the nearest customer service desk of the operating airline. In the event of irregular operations, Volaris and its partners coordinate to offer you the best available alternatives.

For codeshare flights, the check-in process depends on the operating airline. You may need to check in directly on the partner airline’s website or at their airport counters. Your booking confirmation will specify where and how to complete check-in. Be sure to have all required travel documents.

If you miss your connection due to a delay on a flight operated by Volaris or a partner airline, please proceed as soon as possible to the customer service desk of the airline operating your next segment. The airline will review your case and offer the next available flight or alternatives according to its policies and your ticket conditions.

Baggage allowance on codeshare flights depends on the airline you booked your ticket with and your specific itinerary. Your included baggage will be shown in your booking confirmation.

If you need to add extra baggage or special items (such as sports equipment or musical instruments), this can be done at the airport, subject to availability and applicable fees.

Seat selection depends on the airline operating each segment.

  • Volaris-operated flights: You may select and purchase your seat directly at Volaris airport counters on the day of travel. You may also purchase Premium Plus and Premium seats, subject to availability.
  • Partner-operated flights: Seat assignment is handled directly by the partner airline and, in most cases, takes place during check-in on their website or at the airport. Advance seat selection depends on the partner airline’s processes.
