The coverage of up to 150% applies exclusively in the event of flight cancellations notified and applied by Volaris from 19 January until 28 February 2022, provided that the cancellations were due to causes attributable and attributable to Volaris.
The coverage consists of an electronic credit for 125% of the value of the passenger's purchase plus an additional 25%; the additional 25% will only be applicable if the passenger chooses to be granted an electronic credit for a value of 125% of his/her purchase as a method of protection. For such purposes, the customer will receive an initial e-mail from Volaris in which he/she will receive an electronic credit for a value of 125% of his/her purchase, which will be sent within a maximum period of 72 hours from the date of notification of the cancellation by Volaris. Subsequently, Volaris will send you a second email, through which you will receive an electronic credit for the remaining 25%, which will be sent within 72 hours after the customer has chosen the electronic credit as a method of protection. This protection will not apply if the customer chooses either a change of itinerary or a refund to the original form of payment as a method of protection.
This 150% already includes the minimum 25% compensation required by law. The electronic credit of up to 150% is valid for domestic and international flights.
The electronic credit applies to the payment of the Airfare, the taxes generated by it, the Airport Use Fee, and additional services, published on volaris.com at the time of purchase, is personal and non-transferable, it is not negotiable, exchangeable, refundable nor can it be cashed in.
If the airfare is greater than the amount of the electronic credit, the passenger must cover the difference at their own expense; likewise, if the amount of the airfare is less than the amount of the electronic credit, the remainder cannot be collected in cash, however, it can be used to pay for a new reservation. Validity of 180 days to purchase from the date of issue and 12 months to travel. It cannot be accumulated with other promotions or other e-credits, so only one e-credit can be used at a time per reservation. Once the electronic credit has been used, the air transport service contracted cannot be canceled, nor can the electronic credit or name change be requested to be refunded or reimbursed.
If the electronic credit is not accepted as compensation, the passenger may choose between a change in the time and/or date of their flight at no additional cost in the My Trips section at www.volaris.com or a refund by calling the Volaris Call Center and dialing option 6. The change does not apply to route changes and is subject to availability.
The aforementioned compensation options are granted as and form part of the compensation provided for by law in the event of cancellation attributable to Volaris, and are therefore not added to the latter. For further information, please refer to the Domestic Air Transport Service Agreement, or the International Air Transport Service Contract, depending on the flight route.
