Cabin baggage

On board baggage

For any flight, you are allowed to take on board:

  • Two small cabin bags, with a maximum size of 9.8 inches in length, 15.7 inches in width, and 15.7 inches in height each
  • If your bags exceed the limit size, you can check them or pay a fee for an additional medium cabin bag.

IMPORTANT: Due to an official disposition by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration), starting on February 15th, 2017, on all flights from United States and Puerto Rico, only two small cabin bags are allowed per customer. If you wish to, for an additional cost, you can change one small cabin bag for a medium cabin bag.

    • The additional medium cabin bag can measure up to 15.7 in length, 12.9 in width and 22.4 in height
    • When purchasing a medium cabin bag, you get priority boarding
    • Save money by paying for  an medium cabin bag in advance. Purchase it when booking your flight or before arriving at the airport
    • Find Additional services fee here

If you’ve already made your reservation and wish to pay for an additional baggage, go to Manage your Flight and click on Travel Extras or  contact our Call Center.

You can also add a medium cabin bag when you print your boarding pass from our web page.

Any medium cabin bag that exceeds acceptable dimensions must be checked. If you've already checked one bag, you'll be charged for an additional checked bag. This can only be done at Volaris airport counters.
