What is Cross Border Xpress?

Cross Border Xpress (CBX) is a two-way pedestrian bridge that allows travelers to cross the border, connecting Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) with a terminal in San Diego, California. The terminal operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing a convenient and efficient way to travel between Mexico and the United States.

How do you purchase your Cross Border Xpress crossing?

Adding Cross Border Xpress (CBX) to your trip is easy when you book through the TJX route.

  • When booking your flight, select “San Diego (CBX via Tijuana)” or “TJX” as your origin or destination.
  • This option includes your flight to or from Tijuana, along with your CBX border crossing.

You can also add the CBX service as an ancillary during the booking process, just like adding extra baggage or selecting a seat.

  • If you already have a Volaris flight to or from Tijuana, you can add your CBX crossing through “My Trips” on the website or app.
  • Simply enter your reservation code and the last name of any passenger on the booking.
  • Then go to “Additional Services”, select CBX, and complete your purchase.

You're all set!

Now you have everything you need to cross the border quickly and hassle-free.
